The step that takes the longest might actually just be getting your smoker up to temperature. It’s easy to make, because a great way to trim preparation and cooking time off, is by using a rotisserie chicken that’s already been cooked. This recipe will be a big hit at your next get together, but the best part about it is, it’s very easy to make! The blend has a little bit of sweetness that goes perfectly with the pepper spice and herbs to really bring your dishes to life. This appetizer dish uses Spiceology’s Nashville Hot Chicken spice crafted to perfection for any palette with some local culinary experts. Try some of my other appetizers such as the reuben ravioli, or smoked salmon baguette. The flavor and heat of traditional Nashville Hot Chicken conjures up plenty of images and sensations steaming dishes of drumsticks and legs with that fried red color and unmistakable scent, a warm breeze moving through an outdoor dining area filled with friends and family, that first crispy and savory bite as the pepper spice takes hold, and of course that first sip follow-up to cool things down a little. Slice the dill pickle slices in half and then apply the layer. If your guests do not like pickles, it is not a game changer for the dip. Once combined pour it over the top of the chicken as evenly as possible. At this point you can adjust the honey or the hot sauce to suit your taste. Next, mix together the ingredients for the sauce for the topping. I suggest making a solid layer of the diced chicken. I pressed the chicken into the cream cheese mixture a touch so the chicken pieces stay put. Dip: In a medium bowl, fold together cream cheese, 1 cups (175 g) shredded mozzarella, mayonnaise, sour cream, scallions, and salt. Once the cream cheese mixture is ready with the hot sauce and honey, spread it on the bottom of the dish you are going to be using for serving. Heat until lightly bubbling, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat. You can use whatever hot sauce does it for you. Once the buttermilk and the cream cheese are well combined and smooth, mix in the honey and the hot sauce. This is not vital for the recipe to come together but it makes it look nicer. The cream cheese can look a bit clumpy if they are not warmed before combining until smooth. I warmed the cream cheese and buttermilk for about 45 seconds in the microwave before combining. Combining the cream cheese and buttermilk I just suggest dicing the chicken into small pieces so it will fit on a piece of baguette or a cracker that would be used for dipping. The amount of chicken can be adjusted also. I am going to try a plant based chicken in the future to see what it is like. You can use any type of breaded or unbreaded chicken pieces for this recipe. I used frozen breaded chicken from the grocery store for the hot chicken dip. The holidays got me thinking about appetizers and what a great dip idea hot chicken dip would be! The chicken, tangy hot sauce, sweet honey, and dill pickles all make a great combination! Not to mention it is a quick and easy appetizer recipe!
